Dr. Baldea, former competitive athlete and current recreational athlete, chose to practice sports medicine because of his fascination with the dynamic relationship between athlete and physician. He has practiced sports medicine since completing his fellowship in 2009. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, exercising and cheering on the University of Notre Dame and Indianapolis Colts.
Dr. Baldea earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and obtained his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed a family medicine residency at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana, and a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Colorado. Dr. Baldea is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine (CAQSM).
Dr. Baldea understands the disappointment that athletes of any age or ability level feel when an ache or pain prevents them from participating in the activity they love. His goal is to promptly address the cause of pain or disability and safely return all of his patients to the activity or sport they are passionate about. Dr. Saltzman received his Doctorate of Medicine from Rush Medical College with Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honors and remained in Chicago at the esteemed Rush University Medical Center for his orthopedic surgery residency. He completed his Sports Medicine and Shoulder/Elbow Fellowship at prestigious OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, NC, where he helped to provide orthopaedic team coverage and care for a number of high school, collegiate, and professional teams in Charlotte including the AAA Minor League Baseball Charlotte Knights and the NFL Carolina Panthers.
He was recruited to stay at OrthoCarolina after his Fellowship, where he then began his practice caring for patients and athletes in the greater Charlotte area and around the Southeastern U.S. He acted as the Director of Sports Medicine/Shoulder & Elbow Research at OrthoCarolina, served as the Head Team Physician for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC-Charlotte) 49ers Men’s Division I athletics in the American Athletic Conference, and was the Head Team Physician for the Stumptown Athletic (National Independent Soccer Association [NISA] 3rd-tier professional soccer team) and enjoys watching many of the athletes of various sports that he has cared for continue to compete at the Professional level. He was perennially named to North Carolina’s and Castle Connolly’s “Top Doctors” lists.
Dr. Saltzman was fortunate to have the opportunity in the Summer 2024 to join the Indiana University Health Sports Medicine division, where he brings his Nationally-recognized expertise in adolescent and adult athlete care and specialization in complex sports medicine knee, shoulder, and elbow surgery with particular clinical/surgical and research interest in knee ligament (ACL) reconstruction, cartilage restoration, meniscus repair/transplantation, shoulder instability/labral repair, rotator cuff repair, patellar (kneecap) instability/dislocation surgery and throwing shoulder/elbow pathology including ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction (“Tommy John surgery”). With his well-regarded research prowess (named as an Avant Garde Health “Top 1% Orthopedic Researcher” in the U.S.) and over 160 peer-reviewed publications, multiple scientific textbook chapters, and National/International presentation of his research, Dr. Saltzman has a passion for treating knee, shoulder and elbow injuries in athletes and non-athletes alike of all types and ages, from the budding youth athlete preparing for junior high or high school athletics up through the weekend warrior, with a desire to get individuals back to doing the things that make them most happy. With expertise in surgical and non-surgical management including OrthoBiologics such as PRP and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC), Dr. Saltzman and his team strive to help patients of all ages and activity levels return to their activities of daily living and exercise/sporting levels as safely and quickly as possible by designing a personal approach tailored to their specific lifestyle and needs.
Dr. Saltzman continues to have a number of ongoing research efforts including significant grant funding in the realm of ACL/knee ligament surgery, and is an enrolling participant in multiple multicenter research trials including the STaR Multiligament Knee surgery trial supported by the Department of Defense alongside other knee ligament specialist surgeons across the world. He is a current Candidate Member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and American Shoulder and Elbow Society (ASES), and is an Associate Member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). He was nominated to the prestigious Research Committees for both the AANA and AOSSM societies to begin terms in the year 2025.
In May 2025, Dr. Saltzman was named the Chief of the Sports Medicine & Shoulder/Elbow Surgery Division of IU Health Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Saltzman is a Team Physician for the IU Indianapolis Jaguars student athletes and is the Orthopedic Surgery Sports Medicine provider for IndyCar Series Racing.

Dr. Trevor R. Call, DO, is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics. He is a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His surgical interests include:

Dr. Call earned his undergraduate degree in exercise science from Brigham Young University in 2009. He achieved his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013. After medical school, he received residency training from 2013 to 2018 in orthopedic surgery at Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2019, he completed a one-year fellowship training program in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at Beacon Orthopaedics Research and Education Foundation, Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio. Following his fellowship training, he started practicing medicine in 2019. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery.
